Saturday:
Alex put the car on the pole with a new personal best of 1:17.4.
The Saturday race was his first start on the pole. After leading the first half of the race, Alex made a slight mistake out of turn 3, dipping a wheel in the grass. The CRX, that had been right behind him the whole race, got around him. But it was a short lived stint in 2nd place because on the next lap the CRX out braked himself going into turn 1 and slid off into the gravel trap. Alex took the lead back and held it the rest of the race with a Miata right on his bumper.
Sunday:
Morning Race
Alex started on the pole because of his victory in the Saturday race. Alex lead start to finish, capturing his second victory of the weekend. The same Miata from the Saturday race was all over him but could never make the pass.
Feature Race
Alex started on pole for the feature race thanks to his fastest race lap time of 1:18.3. The same Miata he had been racing with the whole weekend started right next to him. Before the green flag dropped, Alex and the Miata made contact while fighting for valuable track position and they both lost their mirrors. The green flag dropped and they made slight door to door contact into turn 1. After battling through the first few turns the Miata took the lead from Alex, but it was short lived as Alex had more power and was able to get on the inside of him into turn 6 and took the lead. From there it was smooth sailing to the Waterford Weekend Sweep!
