Posted (11/20/2009) -

Huffmaster Racingarrived at Road Atlanta for the 16th Annual American Road Race of ChampionsPresented by Grassroots Motorsports, with clear skies and mild temperaturesmaking for perfect track conditions.  The team had high hopes of capturingtheir 3rd ITS Class.  Driving the Huffmaster RacingITS class Mazda RX-7 would be Rob Huffmaster.  Beyond his 2 previous ARRCtitles, Rob's CV included the 2007 T3 SCCA National Runnoffs Championship aswell as finishing 3rd in the 2008 SCCA MX-5 Cup. The racing and the parties at this year's ARRC were some ofthe best in recent memory.  GoRacingTV.comwas there to cover all the action from green flag to the drop of the checkeredfor each class. Viewers will have the ability to view the races during theweeks following the event.  According to GoRacingTV'sErrol Tucker, "We plan to air the Race Re-Cap Shows consecutively on a weeklybasis, starting with the first two races showing on Wednesday Nov. 11. It's abig job working with that much video footage but we love the sport, so it willbe a labor of love."  GoRacingTValso found competitors with interesting racing histories and stories tointerview at the ARRC. These interviews will be part of the race coverageshow.  For more information, visit GoRacingTV.com.

In Qualifying, Rob placed the #27 Huffmaster Racing Mazda RX-7 on the pole position.  Not onlydid Rob out qualify the 2nd place ITS race by over 3 seconds, but he placed the#27 in front of ITR class racers.

"It was really great to reconnect with a lot of racingbuddies throughout the weekend.  It was the only event we competed in allseason, so we haven't really been able to stay in touch as in year's past. After having taken off most of the season, it was refreshingly nice to see thatHuffmaster Racing was able to comeout and strike such a significant mark in qualifying by placing it on the pole. And just not placing the RX-7 on the pole, but to break the track record by 1.2seconds" - stated Rob Huffmaster

In the race, Rob had solid race with competitors in the ITRclass.  And eventually, Huffmaster Racinghad to concede the overall victory to the ITR Porsche of Kip Vansteenburg.  ButRob still comfortably captured the ITS victory over Matthew Pompo driving a Mazda Miata.

"What a fantastic event.  We didn't quite know what toexpect, having skipped most of the 2009 race season.  But to come down here andcapture our 3rd crown is fantastic.  The competition was very tough. EvenMatthew Pompo finished 3rd at this year's SCCA Runnoffs in Spec Miata.  I haveto thank everyone at Mazdaspeed, Hoosier and AIM for making this possible." -stated Rob Huffmaster
